Piet Retief is about 20km away from restaurants, 2 shopping malls and street vendors await you.

The perfect place to be if you love nature and quietness.

A getaway place for grade 12 class farewells.

A perfect, quiet environment suitable for hosting chess clubs.

Small onsite dam with bass, tilapia and curpe fish.

You might also like to visit The Giants Footprint, (Goliaths Footprint), which is about 70km (1h20min drive) from Emahlatini Guest House, (A 4x4 is recommended to reach the site since its off-road)

Passports packed?

We do day tours to Eswatini.

With Eswatini (Swaziland border) just a km down the road, why not have a day trip or spend a night there. It can take around 30 minutes from the guest house to get through the border. An R100/€5.30 road fee is payable via a card.

*The border gate is open from 8am-6pm. A few suggestions are but plenty more to explore.

Swazi Candles Centre in Malkerns, the centre is not just about candles; it also hosts various other crafts outlets, a bustling market and a café, which serves some lovely food (The Daddy breakfast is huge). It's a great place to explore local art, enjoy some delicious food, and pick up unique souvenirs.

Ngwenya Glass in Ngwenya. The shop boasts a vast range of tableware and African animals, from classical wineglasses to large centre pieces and one-off pieces made in their onsite glass blowing factory. Their glass crafted animal range covers the big five: Elephant, Leopard, Rhino, Lion and Buffalo.

We can also take you to Sebebe Rock (arguably the worlds largest exposed granite dome exposed about three billion years ago), and nearby there are water sports, slides, and a zip-line.

Malandelas Farmhouse Restaurant, Country Pub & Guest House is also a place you dont want to miss out. It provides an authentic farmhouse menu in a beautiful setting with a delightfully relaxing pub that offers draught beer with indoor and outdoor seating for one of the countrys finest sunset views.

The place also boasts one of the countrys best selections of local craft, design, lifestyle, food, and gift boutique shops, offering a wide range of shopping experiences.

It also hosts House on Fire and MTN Bushfire Festival, lauded as one of the most eclectic entertainment venues in the world which captivates and inspires visitors as they explore the enchanting spaces of the theatre and sculpture grounds.

NEED A BETTER ROAD TO ST LUCIA, KOSI BAY, SODWANA BAY & MOZAMBIQUE?

No worries at all, just visit us and get the best route advice for your journey to St Lucia or Kosi Bay.

-Avoid the busy and dangerous N2 freeway and travel from the N4 to Carolina.

- Travel from Carolina straight to Amsterdam.

-From Amsterdam straight to us, a kilometre away from the Sicunusa/Emahlatini Border Post down to Lavumisa/Golela Border then straight to N2 where you can have a nice, smooth drive and easy route to N2 going to Jozini or straight down with N2 to St Lucia and Sodwana Bay or Northern Natal saving up to 2 hours of your travelling/ driving time from the busy and dangerous N2 freeway (too many trucks and a bad road).
